Key Stage 1 Sports Day

We believe that P.E. and school sport contribute to the development of the whole child and that through participation in high quality PE & sport, our children build and learn more about key values such as respect and learn valuable life skills.

Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding. In the academic year 2017 -2018, additional funding was given, almost doubling the allocation for our school.

Our overview plans for 2018 – 2019

  • Continue to subscribe to the Greenacre Sports Partnership to improve the quality of PE teaching and learning; enhance the facilities we can offer in school; secure high quality mentoring for staff and the new subject leader; provide expert training for our Mid-day Meals Supervisors
  • Ensure that all three areas of PE are assessed and impacted on i.e. physical development, cognitive learning and emotional and social learning
  • Introduce mindfulness
  • Ensure pupil voice is collected in relation to PE and sport in school (including clubs)
  • Embed changes to planning in EYFS
  • ‘Kidzfit’ – day of activity to improve health and fitness
  •  Scooter Skills day
  • Further improve access to sporting events; e.g. tri-golf, gymnastics and athletic inter-school competitions
  • Further improve the resourcing and storage for PE and sport to cater for the new activities we have introduced
  • Embed a whole school ethos around character education to improve self-esteem, confidence, independence and resilience
